Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Director, Health Outreach, Promotion & Education for Rutgers Health Services. This position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for the Division of Student Affairs-Health & Wellness.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy to cultivate a culture of wellbeing for the Division of Student Affairs and the Rutgers University- New Brunswick community.
- Assesses health and wellbeing needs and assets.
- Guides the development and implementation of evidence-based interventions.
- Evaluates progress toward established student learning outcomes.
- Leads Health Outreach, Promotion and Education, a unit within Rutgers Student Health.
- Provides outreach, education, and training in the key areas of collegiate student wellness including sexual and reproductive health, alcohol and other drug use prevention, mental health, suicide prevention, nutrition, and over-all wellbeing.
- Leads a team of five professional staff and 75+ student peers.
- Participates in the development and dissemination of information regarding health, wellbeing, services, and support to students, staff, faculty, parents, alumni and the larger community.
- Respond tos, and advocates for, diverse student needs and builds a network of support and collaboration throughout the University and the larger community.
- Assists in the creation and implementation of data-driven wellbeing action strategies, learning outcomes and over-arching goals for Rutgers Student Health and the Division of Student Affairs.
- Plays an active leadership role in university-wide committees and initiatives including the Division of Student Affairs Health & Wellness Committee, Scarlet Well, and temporary committees such as JED Campus Team and University-wide JED Team, and others as needed.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
MPH or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.- Ten (10) years of experience with increasing supervisory and leadership responsibilities.

Certifications/Licenses |
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES).
|
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Hgher-level planning, evaluation, and strategic planning skills as they relate to large, widespread health education and public health initiatives.
- Extensive content area knowledge related to public health, health education, overall wellness, mental health, sexual and reproductive health, nutrition, and alcohol and other drugs.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Skills in data collection and analysis (competence with SPSS or other statistical data analysis software).
