The Opportunity

  • Senior Tax Analyst at a growth-oriented energy company
  • Exposure to a wide range of topics ranging from property tax to federal and state income taxes.
  • Interact with various levels within the organization from the financial reporting group to senior management.
  • Reporting to the VP, Tax, you will provide exemplary customer service to our clients.

Key activities include:

  • Prepare required journal entries on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Perform SAP queries of data necessary for quarterly tax provisions as well as annual federal and state income taxes
  • Assemble fixed assets detail to prepare property tax renditions in various states
  • Coordinate and prepare all tax payments for property tax bills as well as various income tax payments
  • Analyze book to tax differences on a quarterly/yearly basis supporting tax provision calculations
  • Maintain, prepare, and analyze data for state income tax apportionment factors
  • Assist in audit requests including research of outstanding matters and associated data support
  • Assist in evaluating potential appeals for property tax assessments and prepare documentation
  • Monitor and update the tax compliance calendar for filing obligations

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Accounting/Tax
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with primary emphasis in income taxes
  • CPA or eligible preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP required
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Attention to detail and analytical ability to notice inconsistencies required
  • Willingness and ability to adjust schedule as needed to achieve internal and external date deadlines required

Our Refineries and Logistics Operations
