DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of vehicles assigned to the central office. You will implement an efficient system within the fleet maintenance department and serve as a backup clerk for the garage. Your duties will include preparing pool cars, managing reservations, and offering transportation services. Occasionally, you will serve as a chauffeur for the Secretary of Transportation or other officials. Furthermore, you will manage mail deliveries, collect parts and supplies, assist with snow removal, and perform groundskeeping tasks. You will also be tasked with general building repairs and providing support to mechanics.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS).
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements:
  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
