Responsibilities
The following duties are typical of the position but are not all-encompassing.
A Typical Day Might Include:
Provide engineering and 3D Revit support for multiple projects that include HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Perform HVAC load calculations, ductwork static pressure calculations, and pump head calculations.
- Performs utility studies and detailed phases of engineering work on major projects or total engineering work on projects of smaller or moderate scope.
- Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard accepted methods.
- Innovate new solutions to challenges and effectively communicate changes to the team.
- May supervise and coordinate the work of less experienced engineers and designers and be responsible for checking a portion or all of the drawings completed on the project within the discipline.
- Engage in client interactions and contribute to business development initiatives.
- Engage with clients to outline project scope, update on project progress, and ensure client satisfaction.
- May write portions or all of the specifications and assist in or prepare total cost estimates.
- Performs design work on REVIT.
- Develop engineering concepts and presentations.
- Coordinates work with other disciplines.
- Keeps current on new design methods and ideas.
- Opportunity for travel, including extended on-site visits, to enhance project involvement.
Qualifications
Qualifications You'll Need on Day One:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college program, which qualifies for licensure is required.
- PE or PE-tracked certification is mandatory, along with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant practical experience with previous employer(s).
- Experience with, and the ability to size HVAC equipment, duct and ancillary equipment, hydronic, and utility piping systems, and plumbing systems.
- Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD, REVIT, and MicroStation preferred, as well as Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Salary Range: $85,000-125,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications directly related to the position.
