We're looking for an employment lawyer to help support Zscaler's US People and Culture team and other relevant partners regarding a broad range of local labor and employment issues. You would support a variety of issues across Zscaler's US and Americas region and will report to the VP of Employment Legal in San Jose, California.

This is a hybrid role in the San Jose HQ office, but we will consider remote candidates who are licensed to practice in California. You will:



  • Provide pragmatic guidance on US / Americas employment matters, in particular:

    • Global Benefits programs including sick and time-off policies, employee benefits, 401(k) support, and leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations;
    • M&A support;
    • Compliance with statutory and regulatory employment laws, including employment-related privacy considerations, pay equity, recruiting, performance management, compensation, employee separations, and background checks.


  • Support the VP of Employment Legal on global compliance programs and policy development, and supporting globally cohesive employment legal support for the P&C organization.
  • Support VP of Employment Legal on legal team process, data, and systems management.
  • Draft and review employment-related policies, procedures, and support P&C teams, including Employee Relations, on necessary guidance, policy, and process documents.
  • Manage employment related disputes and litigation, regulatory and government administrative proceedings, including managing outside counsel; also advise Employee Relations on employee complaint / hotline investigation matters, employee discipline, and other workplace concern investigations.


What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Minimum 5 years of employment legal experience.
  • JD degree. Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.


What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • In-house experience. Experience with large multinational employers (Americas, EMEA, APJ / India).
  • Experience with M&A support, employee benefits experience, 401(k) advice, and contingent workforce risk assessment are a major plus.

Zscaler's salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$136,500 $195,000 USD
