Overview

The Asset Based Lending Analyst is responsible for independently ensuring the integrity of collateral and loan information for an assigned portfolio of Asset Based Commercial and Business Banking Loan clients. Responsibilities include review, analysis and reconciliation of Borrowing Base Certificate (BBC) and supporting documentation; processing of advances if necessary, collateral updates; escalation of reporting exceptions; periodic work-up of ineligible collateral; interface with the borrower and internal operational units and credit and relationship management; review of field examinations and follow-up on recommendations with RM's/PM's; and compliance with stated policies and procedures.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

    Reviews and analyzes BBC and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness; updates collateral information on collateral monitoring system and CNB Loan system; reconciles collateral, loan and unapplied cash and excess availability between the collateral monitoring system, CNB Loan system and BBC; independently identifies and resolves outstanding items.

  • Monitors daily borrowing availability and processes advance requests of clients, if needed; ensures all appropriate authorizations/approvals are obtained in accordance with policies and controls.

  • Analyzes accounts receivable and inventory reports of clients and calculates/verifies ineligible collateral; reviews and incorporates audit findings relevant to the assigned portfolio.

  • Independently monitors, analysis and concludes ongoing portfolio risk exposure by identifying in own judgment and escalating suspicious/inconsistent activities, reporting exceptions, material variance, overdraft, over-formula issues and other matters of importance to the Bank.

  • Serves as backup for other collateral Analysts; maintains up-to-date and well organized documentation and files.

  • Develops and maintains solid working relationship with clients. Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers and provides exceptional customer service; ensures operational excellence by maintaining accuracy, internal control, compliance, communication and teamwork.

  • Keeps knowledge current on operational procedures, systems and controls.

  • Complies with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.



Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of collateral analysis/loan monitoring experience.
  • Proficient with a computer and software programs such Microsoft Word and Excel and familiarity with spread programs such as Moody's.

  • Possesses knowledge in key areas of loan operations such as loan processing and loan approval and documentation.

  • A high level of proficiency, accuracy and performance in all tasks in required.

  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-Motivated team player with a high level of initiative, accountability and adaptability.

  • Ability to exercise prudent judgment to make decisions affecting both clients and the bank.



Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
