Attendants are responsible for maintaining the order, safety, and cleanliness of both childcare rooms. Attendants will follow policies and procedures of the center regarding personal conduct and security; are expected to interact continually with the children in their care while demonstrating a true interest in working and playing with the children. Attendants work with children aged 4 months to 13 years old and must have the ability and desire to work with children, parents, volunteers, and peers. Attendants supervise and lead activities for children in short-term care, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children while they are in our care. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Professional: The ability to work in a distinctively Christian environment. The ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner in conformity with The Salvation Army Mission Statement. The ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances. They must also be able to work with limited supervision and in a team setting with other staff. Exercise good judgment and be comfortable taking initiative. Skills & Abilities: Effective verbal and written communications, ability to multitask. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Must have ability to work and relate well with people. Must have a positive attitude towards coworkers, caring for children, and working with the public. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy environment and maintain poise under pressure. This person must be attentive to detail, organized and able to maintain cleanliness of the short-term childcare rooms. They must also be able to manage the activities and behaviors of multiple children at a time. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Have at least (1) one year of successful experience working with children. (required)
Preferred classwork in childhood development or related field. Bilingual language skills desirable. (preferred) Skills
