Job Description |
The Soar2Success Peer Leader assists in the planning and implementation of Office of Student Life activities, including marketing and publicity for events; assists with event set up and student check-in; coordinates the Brother2Brother initiative (with support from
OSL professional staff) to provide Black men a forum to discuss issues pertinent to them; refers students to the My College Success Network and other campus resources; assists with general office coverage as needed; and performs other duties as assigned.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
Must be a current HCC student who has completed six college credits with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. |
Required Education |
High school diploma or
GED equivalent. |
Required Experience |
- Must be a current HCC student who has completed six college credits with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
- Knowledge of social media outlets and communication; and excellent communication skills.

- Basic computer skills in MS Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Publisher

Preferred Qualifications |
Experience with students of diverse backgrounds and prior involvement with Soar2Success and Office of Student Life are preferred. |

General Weekly Work Schedule |
The work schedule is up to 9 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters and is primarily from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and is flexible. There are occasional Saturday and evening hours with advance notice. Work schedule to be determined by the supervisor. |
