Role Description

As a Senior Equipment Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, developing sustaining strategies for first of its kind equipment. Your role extends to working on both manual and automated equipment substation prototypes to define architecture and processes. This is a great opportunity to have a direct impact on a rapidly evolving technology!

This role will be located at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV, which is just a short drive outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation assistance is available.

What you'll do:
  • Define preventive maintenance activities on automated equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Oversee and maintain pneumatic, mechanical and hydraulic systems, troubleshooting issues as they arise.

  • Provide hands-on support for high-volume manufacturing operations.

  • Optimize equipment settings for quality and throughput in collaboration with production teams.

  • Implement upgrades and modifications to enhance station performance.

What you'll bring:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Experience: Over 5 years in manufacturing equipment design, build, and commissioning.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and experience in designing bulk materials dispensing equipment and high-speed motion systems.

  • Automation Expertise: Familiarity with PLC hardware, and automation systems.

  • Interdisciplinary Communication: Strong communication skills across various engineering and business functions.

  • Innovation: A demonstrated track record of innovative hardware design and engineering.
