Spring Mountain Sahara is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a Chief Nursing Officer. The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) plans and monitors the delivery of quality patient care by the direct patient care staff. As a supervisor of these staff, the CNO oversees the work schedule and assigns workload to the staff, maximizing the strengths and abilities of the staff. The CNO serves on various organizational teams and/or committees and as a consultant to other departments. The CNO monitors and assures the facility's compliance applicable standards, regulations and laws.

ABOUT SPRING MOUNTAIN TREATMENT CENTER:

Spring Mountain Behavioral Services has provided mental health services to the Las Vegas community since 2001, treating children, teens, adults and senior adults with behavioral health or addiction issues. We offer a supportive and healthy environment with 24-hour care that allows people of all ages to make positive changes in their lives. Our primary location, Spring Mountain Treatment Center, focuses on the stabilization of acute symptoms for patients age 5 to 65, along with select outpatient care programs for teens. Our secondary location, Spring Mountain Sahara, houses our Adult Outpatient and Senior Adult Inpatient programs.

Spring Mountain Treatment Center is a 110-bed mental health facility that provides acute crisis stabilization services for adults, teens, and children in a secure inpatient setting. Our individualized treatment includes a structured, therapeutic environment, intensive physician involvement and oversight, and daily group and educational programs. We provide a caring and healthy environment that gives individuals a chance to make positive changes.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • * Attends administrative and clinical meetings such as Med Exec, Governing Board, Management, Policy and Procedure, etc.

    * Interprets hospital policies, objectives, and operational procedures to the department managers and other, as necessary. Recommends changes as needed.

    * Able to conduct interviews for open DON, Supervisor positions, Check job references. Ensures questions are within legal guidelines.

    * Ensure managers and DON follow procedures for hiring. Work with Human Resources.

    * Ensures managers work within allotted FTE.

    * Able to adjust department budget to any needed change.

    * Oversees process of employee reviews to ensure reviews are on time. Supervises and evaluates to ensure goals are appropriate and measurable.

    * Follows proper procedure for employee termination, both voluntary and involuntary.

    * Oversees to ensure corrective action process: documentation plan for improvement, follow up.

    * Works with the medical staff to ensure proper medical/technical operations.

    * Assumes administrative responsibility in the absence of the CEO as evidence in appropriate decision making, intervention into potential problems, notification of proper authorities, etc.

    * Coordinates/manages functions of QI/RM, Infection Control, and Staff Development.

    * Educates, evaluates and monitors employees for knowledge and adherence to required health standards and practices, minimizing exposure to communicable diseases; promotes workplace safety.

    * Demonstrates sound knowledge of the principles and practices of Infection Control

    * Demonstrates understanding of facilities operational, clinical, and financial goals. Participates in Hospital planning, decision-making and policy formulation.

    * Participates in the Hospital admissions system to coordinate nursing care with available resources.

    * Participates in New Employee Orientation and annual staff in-services by teaching and reinforcing current employee health standards of care, policies and procedures including Universal Precautions and Infection Control.

    * Demonstrates a commitment to excellence by identifying ways in which their department can improve the delivery of service; Has a positive approach towards performance improvement activities.

    * Reviews and revises policies and procedures annually.
