Responsibilities

Health Unit Coordinator: Full Time evening shift.

Fairfax has three unique campuses:

Kirkland: Is our main 157-bed, standalone psychiatric hospital, composed of six units providing specialized treatment for mental health and co-occurring disorders, as well as detox services for both adolescents and adults.

Everett: Is our 30-bed adult general psychiatric unit located on the 7th floor of the Providence Medical Center's Pacific campus.

Monroe: A 34-bed unit on the campus of Evergreen Health Monroe.

The Health Unit Coordinator manages the clerical functions of the nursing unit necessary to provide patient care. Follows established guidelines, policies, procedures and/or manuals from sources not limited to but including Fairfax Behavioral Health, The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and/or others, performs a wide variety of routine clerical duties in support of staff and patients ensuring smooth operations of routine unit business such as processing documents and records, maintaining and monitoring established record keeping methods as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent required.

Experience: 2+ years of administrative experience; 1 year in a health care setting required

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of Verbal De-Escalation and Handle with Care certifications, and CPR; provided during Fairfax new hire training.


Qualifications

RESPOSIBILITIES

  • Maintains patient charts on the unit by ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate
  • Completes filing of all loose documentation into patient charts daily
  • Completes daily chart audits for admission assessments, orders and other documentation for accuracy, timeliness and compliance
  • Collects discharged patient charts, brings to HIM department for processing
  • Updates census intake boards and patient access codes
  • Maintains current forms and chart organization on the unit
  • Submits maintenance and repair requests
