Responsibilities
REPORTS TO: Director of Plant Operations SUMMARY STATEMENT & PURPOSE The Manager of Environmental Services is responsible for supporting the management and organization the operations of the facility Environmental Services department while maintaining compliance with all applicable codes, standards of government and regulatory agencies. This position reports directly to the Director of Plant Operations. The Manager of Environmental Services performs a variety of tasks, including participating in interviews with potential candidates, training, inspections and yearly evaluations while also performing daily duties alongside the staff and maintaining the general operations of the department. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have at least two (2) years experience in healthcare cleaning practices.
- Must have High School Diploma or GED
- Handle with Care, Verbal De-escalation, CPR-First Aid
Qualifications
SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES All functions are essential functions unless otherwise noted. The job functions of this position are not limited to the duties listed below.
- Oversee the day to day operations of the department:
- Schedule employees to fill required shifts
- Monitor quality and efficiency of all crew members
- Dispose of infectious/contaminated waste from the facility.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks of patient's rooms, offices and public areas:
- Vacuum, dust, mop, sweep and take out trash, change light bulbs.
- Ensure adequate linens are kept in facility.
- Clean areas with disinfectants.
- Refill supplies (paper products, soap, etc.)
- Comply with established measures for infection control, OSHA regulations, and Safety/Risk Management Plans, policies and procedures.
- Responsible for taking necessary safety precautions when handling power floor care equipment.
- Take appropriate precautions ensuring proper tag out and lock out procedures when working on equipment.
- Assist in assuring a safe and risk preventive environment.
- Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures.
- Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.
- Maintains confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.
PHYSICAL & SENSORY REQUIREMENTS, WORK ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS:
- Ability to work a 40-hour workweek.
- Ability to move continuously is required in the completion of job requirements.
- Ability to operate machinery and equipment in a safe manner.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, run, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, push, pull, and twist.
- Lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds may be required without assistance.
- Ability to work under any weather conditions inside or out without regard for temperatures any time of the day or night.
- Visual acuity is needed for accurate reading of documents.
- Ability to hear sound with or without correction.
- Good hand and finger dexterity for the use of tools and equipment.
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle.
- Ability to exert up to 80 pounds of force to move objects.
- Ability to respond to exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
