Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated junior Systems Engineer to provide support to the Technical Director within the U.S. Navy Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS), Above Water Sensors and Lasers Directorate (IWS 2.0). At least one year of related experience is required. We expect to fill this position immediately!

You will provide technical and programmatic support to the Systems Engineering Working Group Leads (e.g. Platform and Combat System Integration, Hardware and Manufacturing, Software, Requirements, Performance). You will provide technical rigor in support of Systems Engineering (SE) processes, including planning, execution and closure of System Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR), technical writing, requirements management, risk management, configuration management, and technical artifact reviews. You will join a high performing team and be expected to develop a strong understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering and DoD, Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command and PEO IWS instructions and processes (e.g., DoD 5000).

We don't expect you to come in with any expertise but we do expect you to consistently demonstrate strong attributes to quickly build competencies and provide the highest quality products and services to the Technical Director. We look for traits such as how you solve problems when you're stuck. Do you look for creative ways to find solutions? Do you seek out references and teach yourself how to do something new? Do you collaborate with your colleagues? If you take initiatives like these, you would fit in well with our high performing team.

A hybrid work environment is allowed, but you must have the ability to regularly work on-site in DC.

At SPA, we strive to deliver a robust total compensation package that will attract and retain top talent. Elements of the compensation package include competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities.
