JOB SUMMARY

This position is accountable for the day to day management of multiple programs and interdisciplinary projects based in a large department, and involving stakeholders across the UTSW campus. Provides project-based analytical and clinical operations support to Departmental Clinical Leadership and Hospital Administration.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required
  • Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Quantitative Analysis or related discipline.
  • Experience

  • 5 years related clinical operations and project management experience, preferred.
Preferred
  • Education

  • Master's Degree in related field.

JOB DUTIES
  • In collaboration with department's Operations Team and stakeholders from various departments: 1) Manage interdisciplinary projects, 2) Provide analytical support for projects related to quality improvement, patient safety and outcomes supporting hospital operations and goals, and 3) Serve as departmental liaison for all aggregate program related matters.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations from department's senior leadership and other stakeholders. Develop full-scale project plans and associated analytics by performing one or more of the following:

    • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
    • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts.
    • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
    • Plan, schedule and track project timelines and milestones, and develop and automate data displays using charts and reporting tables to present data.
    • Track clinical processes and outcomes.
    • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.
    • Conduct post project reviews and create recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
    • Define project success criteria and communicate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle in a timely and clear fashion.

  • Serve as liaison with Hospital Administration and departmental clinical leadership to facilitate consistent policies and practices, new initiatives and reporting across ambulatory clinics. Work closely with the key steakholders to manage grid of standard operating procedures for involved programs.
  • Estimate resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and communicate recommendations to senior management. Consult on data collection and study design for clinical interventions, as needed.
  • Design, develop and automate clinical quality and performance metrics, as well as interpret, explain and discuss data analysis results with each ambulatory clinic using appropriate analytical and statistical methods. Monitor and report on key clinic information data including various stats, patient access, patient satisfaction, session numbers and length, etc. Work for improvement in all key indicators.
  • Represent department as assigned to Hospital Administration and Health System committees.
  • May supervise lower level staff.
  • Coordinate all program logistics for the department, including personnel and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
