Role Description

As a Senior NPI Engineer at Form Energy, you will play a pivotal role in transitioning innovative designs and processes into full-scale manufacturing. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that new products are developed with manufacturability in mind, meeting quality, cost, and timeline objectives. This role will report into Form's manufacturing operations, more specifically into the NPI department. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and be part of the growth of a fast-moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission!

This role will be located at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV, which is just a short drive outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation assistance is available.

What you'll do:
  • Process Validation: Assist in validating manufacturing processes to ensure product specification and standards are achieved

  • Manufacturing Trials: Lead manufacturing line trials for new products and processes, ensuring part availability, line readiness, and prerequisite data are obtained and consolidated

  • Quality Assurance: Work closely with Quality teams to ensure new product/process are validated and tested prior to, during, and post assembly

  • Trial Documentation: Complete trial reports by documenting observations, analysis, and results; Make recommendations as needed and drive solutions. Record all issues found during trials and help drive them to closure

  • Trial Recovery: Work the team to ensure manufacturing lines are validated and/or restored to prior condition post trials. Evaluate the success of each trial quantitatively (Yield, downtime, cost, capacity, safety)

  • Change Control: Work closely with change control management providing feedback to all trial related details

  • MBOM Management: Work closely with design to structure the design BOM to reflect the manufacturing process/structure

  • Lean Manufacturing: Utilize lean principles to efficiently help plan 5S standards and set raw material replenishment strategies

  • DFM/DFA: Support design engineering to ensure parts are launch with manufacturability in mind

What you'll bring:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field preferred

  • Minimum of +5 years of experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, or related role

  • Proven experience in transitioning products from design to manufacturing

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control

  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail

  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities
