Inova Fair Oaks hospital is looking for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our fabulous, close knit team. This role is PRN two weekend shifts a month, 1 major, 1 minor holiday required | additional weekday or weekend shifts available if desired | Must be able to train during the week, Monday thru Friday.

Inova Fair Oaks Rehabilitation Services offered: physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cancer rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, SAEBO therapy, Bioness therapy (H200 and L300), video swallow studies, vestibular and balance rehabilitation, concussion rehabilitation, pre/post mastectomy rehabilitation, LSVT BIG and LOUD services, and vision rehabilitation

Occupational Therapist Job Responsibilities:


  • Documents evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.
  • Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance and an assessment as to status, relevant to the treatment plan, and eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
  • Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
  • Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.
  • Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols. Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines - adjusting the treatment plan as needed.
  • Showcases current knowledge of the application of therapeutic techniques and evaluation methods..

Occupational Therapist Additional Requirements:

Certification - Basic Life Support from AHA

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Licensure

Occupational Therapist VA License

Experience - Occupational Therapy New graduate, Experience preferred

Education - Bachelor's Degree Occupational Therapy- Masters Preferred
