Job Description

The VP, Group Accounting will be responsible for leading the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, implementing robust financial controls, and optimizing financial processes to support both operational efficiency and long-term growth. This individual will work closely with the CFO, executive leadership, and cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with business objectives, drive financial transparency, and support the group's aggressive growth trajectory. This strategic leadership role will focus on ensuring the group's financial integrity, scalability, and compliance with industry standards as the business continues to expand and continuously reimagine the entire finance function.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, revenue recognition, accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, and corporate accounting
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls, policies and procedures to safeguard the company's financial assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards
  • Mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and professional growth
  • Partner with the CFO and executive management to provide financial insights, analysis and recommendations that support strategic decision-making
  • Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes, ensuring accurate and data-driven projections
  • Lead and oversee relationships with external auditors and relevant regulatory agencies to ensure successful audits and compliance.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and other key financial metrics, providing actionable insights to improve financial performance and profitability
  • Support M&A activities, including financial due diligence, integration and post-acquisition financial management
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • A professional certification, such as CPA, CFA, or ACCA
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in accounting, with recent financial leadership in a medium-to-large company
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and other applicable accounting standards and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and various financial reporting software and systems, such as SAP
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to think analytically, anticipate future trends, and develop innovative solutions to complex financial challenges
  • Commitment to integrity, ethics, and professionalism, with a passion for driving organizational excellence and delivering value to shareholders
  • Government contracts experience is strongly preferred
