CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Management of Others
- Direct leadership of manager of managers and manager of others.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop staff.
- Champion performance management process to achieve business results.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure environment that promotes high employee engagement.
- Direct: Architectural Consumer Regional Quality Directors.
- Indirect: Architectural Consumer Plant Quality Managers and staffs.
Strategic Quality Planning
- Plan and execute manufacturing strategy to achieve quality goals.
- Champion Quality Standards and ensuring continuous improvement throughout the entire supply chain process (Raw Material, Formula Design, Manufacturing, Distribution).
- Identify and lead portfolio of strategic initiatives and projects that positively impact business results.
- Develops and maintains relationships with internal or external partners to drive quality.
- Collaborate with R&D and Customer Facing quality leaders to align priorities and coordinate resources.
Areas of Focus
- Opportunity Cost.
- Defect reduction.
- Quality System Management (GBMS, ISO).
- Quality Standard compliance and development.
- Product Transfer.
- Complaint management.
- Management of Change.
- Quality Programs; examples are Microbiology, Supplier Quality Assurance, Formula-Manufacturing Assurance, Perfect package appearance.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS FORMAL EDUCATION: Required:
- BA or BS in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required:
- 10-years relevant experience in Quality, Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Operations, R&D, or related field.
- 5-years relevant management experience.
- Experience managing a diverse portfolio of objectives, initiatives, and projects.
Preferred:
- Quality field experience.
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required:
- Demonstrated coaching and conflict resolution skills.
- Lead autonomously and independently make decisions.
Preferred:
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
- Root Cause trained.
- Leading change
