Overview

The Payroll Specialist performs all activities necessary to process multi-state payroll, including maintaining related records, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, processing time tracking data, new hires, terminations, leave of absence, etc. This position works closely under the direction and supervision of the Payroll Manager to carry out all necessary financial management and fiscal control policies and activities for payroll administration.

What You'll Do

  • Ensures timely processing of multi-state semi-monthly payrolls in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles via Dayforce Payroll

  • Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll

  • Assists employees and staff with general questions related to payroll, leave accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits and other pay related issues

  • Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records

  • Processes Manual Payments/ACH transactions

  • Handle unemployment claims and verifications forms as needed performing other job-related duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned

Skills You'll Need

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Demonstrate high attention to detail with the ability to multi-task

  • Must possess a thorough understanding of the importance of confidentiality and non-disclosure according to the general standards set forth by HIPAA

  • The ability to work under tight deadlines monitoring, auditing, adjusting and reconciling payroll data

  • Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs with very strong personal communication skills - must be outgoing and can work well with all levels within the organization

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Experience with Dayforce Global HCM (formerly Ceridian), Workday HCM and Time Tracking highly preferred

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Analyst, Payroll Coordinator, or similar role

  • Moderate of payroll experience (specifically processing and running payroll)

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business or Human Resources preferred

  • FPC or CPP certification a plus

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $95,000.00 to $115,000.00. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
