The Professional Development Specialist is a team member within the HR team, partnering with the Technical
Trainers in the Quality Assurance team to design, deliver, and manage effective training programs that enhance
the skills and career development of our employees' company wide. The Professional Development Specialist is
responsible for leadership training, compliance training, and career path development while mentoring employees
and fostering a culture of safety & continuous learning.

Core Duties & Responsibilites:

  • Leadership Training and Oversight:
  • Implement leadership training programs to cultivate supervisorial, management, and leadership skills at various organizational levels.
  • Evaluate and modify leadership content to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
  • Facilitate ongoing leadership classes to current and new employees.
  • Compliance Training:
  • Manage compliance-related training programs to ensure adherence to internal and external regulations and standards.
  • Keep compliance programs updated based on regulatory changes.
  • Career Path Development:
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create clear career progression paths for employees.
  • Design training solutions that align with career development initiatives and support employee growth.
  • Facilitation of Training Sessions:
  • Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions both in person and virtually for various levels of employees.
  • Facilitate workshops and other learning events, ensuring the material is accessible and impactful.
  • Training Needs Assessment:
  • Regularly assess the training needs of employees through surveys, interviews, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with management to identify key skill gaps and recommend relevant training programs.
  • Create Learning Experiences:
  • Develop diverse and innovative learning experiences, including workshops, e-learning modules, interactive activities, and simulations to maximize employee engagement and retention.
  • Incorporate technology and multimedia into training content to cater to different learning styles.
  • Measure and Evaluate Training Impact:
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to assess the impact of training initiatives on performance and organizational goals.
  • Conduct post-training evaluations and gather feedback to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in corporate training and adult learning methodologies.
  • Revise and update training materials to ensure alignment with evolving business needs and employee
  • Employee Mentoring:
  • Mentor and coach employees on their professional development, offering guidance on skill enhancement and career advancement.
  • Participate with mentoring programs that connect experienced professionals with junior staff.
  • Travel: The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2.
Education:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
  • Certification in corporate training, instructional design, or a related area (CPTD, ATD, etc.) preferred.
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in corporate training, learning and development, or instructional design.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful leadership and compliance training programs.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and e-learning platforms.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to assess training needs and evaluate training effectiveness through metrics.
  • Practical understanding and application of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with changing priorities as necessary.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player with excellent work ethics. Strategic planning skills.
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Tactful, professional demeanor with ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, internal and external parties.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management skills, well organized, and quick response times.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning design tools.
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting on training effectiveness.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
