Job
Summary:
As a direct report to the Director of
Programs/Quality, the key
responsibilities include leading cross functional team of employees from RSA's
various departments to ensure the assigned projects are on schedule to meet
customer required dates and are being worked in compliance to customer/industry/internal
specifications requirements while maintaining an effective liaison with customer.
The position provides technical support to operations, customers, suppliers,
and other RSA employees in the Sr. Quality Engineering capacity when required. The
position also requires managing activities for Non Destructive Testing (NDT)
processes such as Penetrant Inspection and Radiography Inspection with required
support to meet the Industry and Customer requirements of Quality and Delivery
of the products. The position will be the main point of contact with RSA Level
3 to get required support for the certified RSA employees to address any
concerns or questions. The position requires the individual to be responsible
for maintaining NADCAP compliance for the NDT processes by working closing with
Quality, Operations and Engineering team along with third party auditing
agency.
Principal
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for Sr.
Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision.
Performs
activities of the Program Manager on the assigned programs as required to
meet the customer expectations in timely manner.
Lead or Support
activities for on-time delivery on orders through the manufacturing
process including DMR resolution, process, verification activity, and
FAIR/Source/Conformity activity.
Support other
quality engineering team members as necessary, on departmental tasks, to
improve skillsets for betterment of the department and ensure business
objective are met.
Lead and provide
technical support to cross-functional team members on assigned Programs
and Quality Engineering tasks
Lead
team members effectively, diligently and with a passion to manage the
complex projects to support RSA and Customers' business requirements.
Lead and support
MRB (Material Review Board) process per RSA's non conforming material
process. Be active participant in the MRB related meetings or problem
resolution activities.
Recommends and
implements changes to manufacturing processes by analyzing production,
labor standards, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and
estimating future requirements.
Lead or support
customer quality concerns and related activities as required. Performed a
detailed root cause and corrective actions using various methodologies
like Shainin, 8-D, Ishikawa, Pareto etc to support customers and improve
product quality standards for RSA.
Lead and support
RMA (Return Material Authorization) process per RSA's process and help RSA
and customer achieve required goal of Turn Around Time on the returned
products.
Frequent formal
and informal customer interface to about project status, resolution of the
open actions related to program or quality engineering tasks.
Performs program
reviews with RSA leadership team and with Customer as required to provide
clear, concise and accurate status of assigned projects
Identify
risks on the project early, communicate the risks to the team members and
present a solution that support RSA's business needs and customer
requirements.
To
develop and maintain metrics related to the projects and present to the
management for internal review and during Program Management reviews.
Responsible
and manage activities for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) processes such as
Penetrant Inspection and Radiography Inspection with required support to
meet the Industry and Customer requirements of Quality and Delivery of the
products.
Be
the main point of contact with RSA Level 3 to get required support for the
certified RSA employees to address any concerns or questions.
Support
NDT team members (certified inspectors) as required to ensure all parts
processed per specification and requirement, help resolve open issues as
needed and be the liaison between Operation, Quality and Engineering. Provide
training and coaching as required
Host or
participate in customers and third-party audits as assigned along with
providing technical support.
Lead or support other duties and responsibilities assigned by the direct manager to support RSA's business objectives and to meet Customer satisfaction levels.
Comply with RSA and TriMas procedures and policies, FAA, customer requirements by completing required trainings, ensuring adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
The pay scale for this position ranges from $90,000- $105,000 annually.
Qualifications
Minimum
Education & Experience:
BS degree (At least a 4
year) in Engineering from an accredited college
or university with 6+ years of related experience in Aerospace or Automotive
Industry in the field of Quality or Manufacturing Engineering with leadership
on working with cross functional team. A relevant training or equivalent
combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of work
experience.
Desirable Working
Knowledge or Certifications:
Experience in AS9100 or TS16949 standards
Quality Management System, NADCAP(knowledge
of NDT processes in an Aerospace environment preferred)
Corrective Action/8 -D
Good communication skills to
collaborate and resolve issues in a teamwork environment.
Hands-on ability to research and
learn topics independently.
Experience and knowledge of
Project/Program Management tools is necessary
Experience and Knowledge of
material review board and non-conformance procedures required.
AS9102 first article inspection
report and related processes
Trained or certified to internal
audits, performed in accordance with AS9100 requirements
