SUMMARY: OneMain Financial (OMF) is seeking a Vice President, Managing Director of Software Platforms (MDSP). As OMF expands its market verticals, a multi-product strategy is evolving to penetrate markets through compelling customer engagement. We aspire to evolve enterprise software platforms to support faster product development and release. MDSP leads the strategy, development and adoption of software platforms, initially focusing on Enterprise Document Management, IDP, Document and form generation, middleware (e.g., ESB), and other enterprise services. This role requires a significant understanding of the multi-product offerings, OMF's business objectives, along with a strong understanding of industry platform products. This role spans selection, design, and development all the way to developer integration support and operational support. As OneMain develops its products in an incremental and iterative development model, the software platforms are expected to also deliver incrementally, frequently, with test and pipeline automation. The MDSP strives to build and support capabilities with a high degree of self-service for consuming product teams. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Establish the Enterprise Software Platform organization (starting with Document Management) and its objectives and key results (OKRs). Work with senior leadership to align Software Platform OKRs against product priorities and business OKRs. Define execution strategy for Software Platforms. Work closely with engineering leadership to establish Software Platform services and capabilities which drive product delivery for OMF customers. Lead as the subject matter expert for Software Platform domains. Set the bar for self-service-based creativity, enabling software product teams to leverage platform capabilities. Accountable for the performance of software platform leads, their teams, and their platforms. Define, communicate, and improve key metrics which focus on and demonstrate advancement against Software Platform OKRs. Define, socialize, and champion Software Platform capabilities that fuel modernization, cloud-based products, and 3rd party integrations which support OMF customer needs and drive toward OMF business strategy. Within Software Platforms, foster and drive a culture of improvement and innovation, focused on self-service, quality, throughput, and serviceability of the platforms. Across product teams, foster adoption of OMF software platforms, as they mature and demonstrate value, driving a culture of innovation, adoption, and collaboration across the product organization. Foster iterative development in software platforms. Evolve Lean and SCRUM delivery models. Facilitate high-commitment delivery and reduce cycle time by lowering delivery friction through automation of all aspects of the platform delivery lifecycle. Adopt and contribute to enterprise DevOps capabilities, aligning to platform development needs, and reducing delivery friction. CI/CD, test automation, and strategic use of the pipeline to ensure non-functional requirements. With OMF operating a hybrid cloud and on-prem environment, mature and promote solutions which are cloud-first yet effectively support required on-prem capabilities. Set and pursue a platform architecture target state, which aligns software platforms supporting products with OMF business objectives and customer needs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in software product delivery organizations, which both deliver and run customer-facing products in operations, with demonstrated progressive leadership growth in all aspect's software delivery. 5+ years leading development of ground-up platforms and services, along with demonstrated maturing of both. 10+ years of experience leading employee/contractor blended organizations. 10+ years working with Iterative and Incremental methods (e.g., SCRUM) 10+ years of experience selecting and negotiating 3rd party products and services. 5+ years defining compelling job descriptions, attracting, and hiring industry-leading talent, both in employee and contractor roles. 5+ years of experience leading on-prem to cloud-based technology organization transformation. 5+ years of AWS experience in a mature, leading cloud-first organization. Bachelor's Degree computer science, hard sciences, or engineering is preferred, master's degree is desirable or equivalent professional experience for either degree Demonstrated understanding of cloud-based architectures for both product implementation and production environments. Strong familiarity with cloud-based and on-prem integration patterns. Experience delivering strategic presentations to C-suite and board leadership, as well as public speaking experience as a technology domain leader. Supported organizations with multiple lines of business, with systems and products that have both vertical and cross-cutting business aspects. Demonstrated experience leveraging DevOps pipelines with high automation for quality maturity and cycle-time reduction.
Target base salary range is $200k - $250k which is based on various factors including skills, work experience, and location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive additional compensation program that is based on individual and company performance.
