We are looking for an exceptional Sr. Statistical Programmer Analyst(Sr. Programmer Analyst) who is interested in collaborating on research in the Johns Hopkins Center for Mental Health and Addiction Policy at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (BSPH). The programmer will be focused on a variety of research projects focused on policy and health services for populations with substance use and mental health conditions. This position is supported by grants from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and the National Institute of Mental Health. The position will involve analysis of Medicaid and Medicare claims and encounters data, including implementing code to identify cohorts meeting study inclusion criteria, constructing variables, building datasets, and conducting statistical modeling. The programmer will work closely with a team that has expertise in causal inference using observational data so will employ these methods in the statistical modeling work. The effective candidate will be highly motivated, detail-oriented, a self-starter, and good at working both collaboratively and independently. The successful candidate will have prior work experience analyzing large datasets and familiarity with health insurance claims data. Interests in the health of marginalized and disadvantaged populations is a plus. Specific Duties & Responsibilities
