The Job

The Senior Director, Talent Development will be accountable for the development and implementation of training strategies, programs, and processes to support organizational goals. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, Compliance training, Clinical training and Management training and development. This position will oversee the training function, as well as manage training staff.

You Will



  • Develops, implements and directs talent programs, policies and procedures to improve employee retention, engagement and participation. To include drawing upon knowledge of instructional design theory and adult learning theory to ensure success.
  • Manages performance appraisal process and confers with senior leaders and supervisors to guide and assist them in talent matters.
  • Creates talent tools, resources, training and materials, such as onboarding content, deployment of both web based and instructor led courses, and performance management communications for all employees
  • Informs supervisors of training and career development opportunities, succession planning and internal transfers that are available for their teams.
  • The Senior Director, Talent Development will also run clinical training & training programs from our member services organization
  • Defines operational metrics for employee engagement, workforce management, workforce planning, and performance management.
  • Ensures the creation and completion of employee development programs for key talent.
  • Manage the overall training budget to ensure planned programs remain within the budget parameters.
  • Monitors external trends which could impact talent.
  • Actively support the achievement of SCAN's Vision and Goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Your Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level of experience in Human Resources or Instructional Design
  • 7-10 years' experience of managing a training and development team
  • 5 years of leadership experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Depth of practical experience in both technical and non-technical training
  • Strong presentation and public-speaking abilities.
  • Ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and self-directed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to appropriately maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, required.
