Job Summary:

This position will support the Specialty Clinics by providing administrative assistance during special clinical sessions by ensuring paperwork is in proper order, greeting, escorting, and seating patients, monitoring patient check-in, and directing patients to appropriate clinics, programs, departments, and/or students. This role will page students, staff, and faculty, take messages as necessary, keep and record ongoing statistics on clinic attendance and screening clinic, retrieve information via the computer for students to give to the patient for payment purposes, retrieve records from the Dental Records Library and Archives, and direct records to the requesting patients, clinic, departments, students, faculty, and internal staff. We reserve the right to add or delete duties and responsibilities at the discretion of the supervisor and/or hiring authority. Key Responsibilities: Front Desk Reception (50%)
- Provide front desk reception support to the Specialty Clinics which includes the General Practice Residency Program, Graduate Periodontal Program, Oral Surgery Department, Emergency Clinic, and Special Care Clinic.
Scheduling & Clinic Assistance (50%)
- Receive and greet patients, sales representatives, providers, staff, and visitors in a professional manner.
- Monitor patient check-in and check-out.
- Facilitates efficient and professional patient/resident/faculty interaction.
Manages all scheduling for all appointments in the various clinics.

Qualifications:

- Two years of general clerical or administrative experience.
Substitution: Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Colorado law requires that candidates for state government jobs be residents of Colorado at the time of application. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience in a healthcare or clinical setting.
- Previous experience in managing patient check-in, paperwork, and directing patients to appropriate clinics, programs, departments, and/or students.
- Experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Medical Terminology: Proficient understanding of medical terminology to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals and comprehend medical documents and records.
- Electronic Health Records (EHR): Experience in working with electronic health record systems and ability to navigate and update patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Patient Interaction: Ability to interact with patients in a compassionate, professional, and empathetic manner, ensuring their comfort and addressing their concerns effectively.
- Administrative Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks, manage paperwork, schedule appointments, and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Confidentiality: Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive medical information.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals, patients, and other administrative staff.
- Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to accurately complete paperwork, record information, and ensure all necessary documentation is in order.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify issues, think critically, and proactively find solutions to administrative challenges that may arise in a healthcare setting.
- Teamwork: Collaboration and cooperation with healthcare professionals and other administrative staff to support the smooth functioning of the healthcare facility.
- Technology Skills: Proficiency in using relevant software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), scheduling software, and other healthcare-specific systems or databases.

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $3,255 - $3,776.20 per month. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is eligible for overtime compensation. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
