Description
Acara Solutions is looking for a Collections Specialist for one of our clients in Beaverton, OR. This person needs to have commercial (business to business) experience.
Pay: $30-$35 hourly
Job Duties:
Duties include but not limited to:
  • Responsible for collections for outstanding AR on assigned accounts.
  • Facilitate customer account research, analysis, and issue resolution.
  • Respond to customer inquiries. Collaborate with Customer, and internally, to reconcile PO, billings, and payments on accounts.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and others to ensure proper billings on customer accounts.
  • Provide customer account statements. Ensure delivery of invoices-which may include emailing or uploading to customer portals.
  • Communicate to external and internal customers to understand issues, or request resolution, and utilize issue escalation protocol.
  • Responsible for forecasting collections for assigned region of customer accounts.
  • Report details and collect from customers to ensure meeting or exceeding corporate cash collections, and other individual and team performance KPI's.
  • Help team to discover, and then champion, process improvements for efficiency and payment issue resolution. Willingly share knowledge and information.
  • Update system and the required EXCEL reporting, to reflect Accounts Receivable customer account and invoice status. Document collection work and account follow up, follow procedures, and ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, legal statutes, and company policies
  • Monitor payments and review remittances for accurate account detail and reconciliations. Assist with operation team's inquiries for proper cash posting, and ensure customer accounts have accurate and compliant adjustments.
  • Timely updates and completion of required reporting.
  • Participate, and potentially help lead with team meetings, celebrations, and cross-functional events.
  • Enthusiastically support continuous improvement philosophy and behaviors.
  • Professional and courteous phone and email correspondence to external and internal customers.
  • Perform other duties and related special projects, as required.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Must have experience with commercial (business to business) collections.
  • Must be A tenacious critical thinker with strong analytical and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Business and financial acumen. Basic accounting knowledge-- Ability to complete customer account reconciliations.
  • Must have Excellent interpersonal skills and strength with Verbal and written fluency with English.
  • Computer and internet skills. Ability to quickly learn various software tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software such as Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Detail oriented individual with proficient organization and time management skills. Results oriented mindset with focus on continuous improvement.
  • Must have the ability to work well within a team while also being a strong individual contributor.
  • Must have ability to work through change and strive for continuous improvement
  • Must have a positive, professional, and proactive approach to work.
  • Sense of urgency and commitment to our customers as well as the success of the organization.
  • Strong character, ethics, and a high standard of performance.
  • Must be able to follow standard procedures, and champion compliance to policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ERP systems, Oracle preferred.
  • 2 - 3+ Years Previous Collections and Accounts Receivable experience
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, or Finance.
