Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for patients and families visiting our Music Studio. In this role, you will orient visitors to the studio, its activities, and available resources. You will also take the lead in supervising activities in the Family Commons creative spaces in the supervisor's absence.

Key Responsibilities:

Welcome and orient patients and families to the Music Studio and its offerings.

Lead activities, plan events, and solve problems in the Family Commons creative spaces when the supervisor is unavailable.

Assist in developing high-quality, hands-on programming for patients and families, with a focus on music-making activities.

Create, manage, and prepare inventory for music-related activities and workshops.

Design and facilitate engaging workshops that encourage creativity and participation among patients and families.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop daily activities for Music Studio, and may be asked to assist in developing activities in the Art Studio and Makerspace.
  • Provide education to patients and families for use of instruments, resources and technology within the Music Studio, including but not limited to instrument guides, music books, and recording software.
  • Develop and lead group workshops.
  • Collaborate with experts in education and child development for continuity of services across disciplines.
  • Maintain constant awareness of the environment. Respond to complaints with compassion and empathy by providing appropriate solution(s).
  • Serve as an ambassador for the department by ensuring the department is welcoming and safe for all patients and families.
  • Take accountability to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the staff to ensure that safety, cleanliness, comfort and aesthetics are maintained. Monitor and report the need for repairs in the area to the appropriate departments/staff.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals of the department and the institution.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in music or music education is required

Minimum Experience:

  • Three (3) years experience in an educational activities role
  • Proficient in guitar, piano, voice and ukulele preferred.
  • Knowledge of music technologies such as recording software (i.e. Logic Pro and Garageband), music streaming, music applications, electronic instruments, and editing preferred.
  • Proven exceptional customer relations/service role required.
  • Basic knowledge of daily business operations required.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $22.00 - $38.50 per hour for the role of Coord-Family Commons Activities.
