Overview

The Credit Administration Business Risk and Controls - Risk Analyst III position will perform risk management functions within the Credit Risk Management function. In this role, you will be a key contributor to support remediation activities to address various regulatory issues across the Credit Risk Management function. Key activities can include but are not limited to, interacting with auditors and business unit team members to manage PBCs, coordinating process and controls walk-throughs, managing timeliness of deliverables, conducting risks and controls assessments and performing risk advisory and consulting services. This is a dynamic role for an individual who is seeking an opportunity that offers exposure to a broad range of risk management skillsets.


Responsibilities

  • Planning:

    * Assist in the development of a plan and timeline to support various regulatory remediation findings, based on regulatory letters, responses and commitments.

    * Set and manage project goals, objectives and plans to accomplish tasks within established timelines and in alignment with established goals.

    Risk Program Management:

    * Facilitate the timely delivery of artifacts for processes, controls, testing or other needs and ensure they are complete and meet expectations

    * Proactively maintain all documents based on their exposure in meetings and knowledge of their updates or changes

    * Develop schedules and timelines for walkthroughs with auditors and business unit leaders

    * Coordinate and help lead walkthroughs with process / control owners to obtain understanding of their process and controls; prepare them for effective presentation with auditors and timely delivery of pre-walkthrough materials

    * Assist the business owners in responding to feedback from internal and external auditors and validate the accuracy of any issues identified

    Risk Advisory Services:

    * Assist the manager with identifying and monitoring areas of risk, process or controls, based on remediation milestones and deliverables

    * Perform risk assessments, evaluate mitigation strategies, and help manage new projects or initiatives with emerging risks for Credit Administration, through the development of a Risk, Action, Issues, and Decision/Dependency (RAID) log

    * Collaborate with control owners to design or enhance controls that strike the right balances between efficiency, risk mitigation, control design, and control documentation within enterprise frameworks.

    * Propose solutions to processes and controls to address the Bank's dynamic growth, where new or complex risks are introduced and need to be mitigated.

    * Build healthy cross-functional relationships among various departments to achieve alignment in timelines, deliverables, and anticipated results.

    Professional Development:

    * Develop and maintain core technical and soft skills (e.g., job knowledge, required standards, risk frameworks, systems, leadership, planning and organizing, communication, and problem solving).


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Auditing, and Risk Management; Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk and Project Management or Consulting (internal or external), including leadership experience a plus, OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Auditing, and Risk Management; Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk and Project Management or Consulting (internal or external), including leadership experience a plus.

Preferred Education: Bachelors Degree with advanced certification (CPA, CISA, CIA, etc.)

Preferred Area of Study: Business, Risk Management, Auditing

Preferred Area of Experience: Financial Services, Banking, SOX controls.

License or Certification Type: (CPA, CISA, CIA, etc.)

Preferred Skill(s): Detail-Oriented, Project Management, Organization, Communication, Sense of Urgency, Teamwork

if hired in California the base pay for this position is generally between $104,325.00 and $159,965.00 per year. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
