Medical Assistant Mobile Occupational Health - Contingent

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team at Henry Ford Health. As a Medical Assistant in our Mobile Occupational Health department, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services to employees at various worksites. Your expertise will be essential in assessing and treating patients in a variety of situations.

This position requires travel to off-site corporate client locations within the Metro-Detroit area. Long-distance travel, within Michigan, is a possibility with advanced notice.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Assisting physicians with pre-employment exams.
  • Administering vaccinations and immunizations
  • Perform drug screenings and other clinical procedures as needed
  • Drawing blood and collecting other specimens for laboratory analysis
  • Conduct hearing tests, respiratory fit testing, tb testing, etc. Training will be provided.


Education/Experience Required:



  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR
  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR
  • Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR
  • Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR
  • Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years
  • Current BLS-C
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred
  • Strong clinical skills, including phlebotomy, injections, and vital signs measurement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
