The Implant Coordinator provides critical support to the Operating Room in the control, coordination and replenishment of surgical implants and instrumentation that includes consigned, owned or unique implants. The Implant Coordinator serves as the point of contact for implant vendor representatives in the OR.
The Implant Coordinator researches and analyzes all surgical products/implants and presents information to the Surgical Formulary Committee for product selection. The Implant Coordinator processes "bill only" items for payment; maintains tracking logs for implants and tissue as required by all regulatory agencies, including TJC, and maintains "Chain of Custody" tracking as required by regulatory agencies.

Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in OR inventory control and purchasing to include previous experience in developing and analyzing Request for Proposals (RFPs). Previous experience using a personal computer and various software application to include Excel, Word, Access or other database management and reporting systems.
Experience PREFERRED: Previous work experience in supply chain management. Previous work experience in surgical services/operating room.
Education/training REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent
Education/training PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field.
Independent action(s) required: Identify external benchmarking resources to assist in the negotiation process. Job duties may include the access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies.
