We are looking for a Field Service Technician - Steam in our Delanco, NJ location. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the most complex heavy rental equipment and vehicles at assigned company locations as well as customer sites as necessary. Ensures that equipment and vehicles operate effectively, efficiently, and safely. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains and repairs of a variety of complex rental equipment, tools, and vehicles involving mechanical, hydraulics, and diesel, pneumatic and electrical systems. Service is primarily performed at customer locations.
- Determines parts needs and order parts.
- Maintains a safe work area, obeys safety rules, and ensures safety decals are properly displayed; ensures compliance with DOT vehicle maintenance standards and company policies, as well as utilizes SMF/work order computer system correctly.
- Implements, sustains, and develops quality process improvements that focus on safety, financials, operations, and customer service.
- Assists in maintaining an accurate schedule and record of maintenance.
- Keeps current on all applicable rental equipment features and applications.
- May assist in familiarizing and training customer on equipment and vehicles.
- Demonstrates orientation toward excellent customer service by conducting daily activities, communications, and interactions in a cooperative, positive, and professional manner.
TO SUCCEED, YOU WILL NEED:
- 3+ years' experience in mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and electrical repairs involving complex equipment, tools, and vehicles.
- Mastery of mechanical and maintenance of equipment and vehicles and ability to operate heavy equipment.
- Ability to diagnose complex mechanical problems and successfully repair the equipment.
- Able to read instructions, numbers and write legibly in English.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, collaborate well with coworkers, and follow management instructions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and travel as required.
- HS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid state driver's license; CDL may be required.
- Cleaning driving record for the past 36 months
- Training through manufacturer training courses is a plus
