RespiratoryTherapist DME

Provide clinical support and care to oxygen, positive airway pressure, and ventilator patients. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Assess respiratory patients' needs and progress.
  
• Assessment to include oximetry, BP, breath sounds, questions and review of medication and equipment.
  
• Files report w/ physician.
  
• Instructs patients/families/caregivers and demonstrates respiratory equipment, supplies and products on proper use of the required equipment.
  
• Completes the necessary paperwork and follow-up according to Mercy Assisted Care and Health System policy and procedure in a timely and appropriate manner.
  
• Promotes teamwork through maintaining effective communication with appropriate staff.
  
• Helps with community and Health System outreach efforts.
  
• Attends department meetings and in-services.
  
• Stays current on new respiratory products and supplies.
  
• Meets with appropriate vendors.
  

IL Respiratory Care Practitioner license
RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) with The National Board for Respiratory Care
Approved CPR or BLS
