About The Role:

As a Sr. Product Compliance Engineer E2E (end-to-end), your main responsibilities are designing for product compliance and managing projects from beginning-to-end and ensure products are in compliance with multiple regulations such as EMC, Safety, Energy Efficiency and other compliance regulations, before products are placed in the markets. This role is a key contributor to the Harman Professional product compliance team and will be working with Harman Professional new and existing products.

Your Team:

You will be reporting to the Director of the Global Product Compliance team in Harman Professional.

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with Research and Development teams in design, emphasizing designing for compliance.

  • Manage multiple product compliance projects for Harman Professional products (ITE, Audio & Video equipment) and ensure products are in compliance with all applicable regulations, such as: EMC, Safety, Energy Efficiency, Radio and others.

  • Make applications for product certification with multiple certification bodies, agencies and authorities (CB Scheme, NRTL, FCC, IC, CE marking, UKCA marking, CCC, and other certifications)

  • Ensure project timelines are met and certifications are completed in a timely manner to ensure successful shipment of products.

  • Determine applicable regulations and standards, and create/execute product compliance plans

  • Create marking guides, sample requirements, risk assessment documents, declarations of conformities and build technical files.

  • Evaluate product compliance documents including test reports, user manuals, product labels and other documents and information to ensure product compliance.

  • Collaborate closely with various teams in Harman Professional as well as external agencies (test laboratories, certification bodies and others).

  • Support the team of product compliance engineers as well be a mentor for a Jr. product compliance engineer.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology (BSEET) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5+ years' experience with product Safety and EMC regulatory compliance, for multiple markets (USA, Canada, Europe, UK, Others).

  • Experience with international product compliance schemes.

  • Ability to understand engineering schematics, drawings, and design principles.

  • Experience with product compliance requirements and certification schemes for ITE, audio and video equipment.

  • Excellent communication, writing, documentation, organization, and project management skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage and prioritize projects in accordance with the company needs.

  • Experience with Product safety Qualified Test Facility or Data Acceptance Programs or similar.

What Is Nice To Have:

  • Experience with wireless, energy efficiency, and materials compliance.

  • Experience with PLMs and Change Control Processes.

  • Project management training and experience.

Pay Transparency
$ 83,250 - $ 122,100
Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation are also available, such as bonuses or commission.

Pay is based on a wide range of factors, including, without limitation, skill set, experience, training, location, and business need. While the above range is a reasonable estimate of the wage range for this position, please note the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographical differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.
