Job Overview:

The Technical Trainer is responsible for the education and training of the Access Center department. Produces efficient training methodologies and be responsible for the instructional design and delivery of classroom-based learning. Works collaboratively with departmental peers and delivers comprehensive training to Access Center personnel. Performs other duties as needed. Provides exemplary leadership and is committed to and models the mission and values of the department and organization.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Minimum 2 years of contact center experience in a contact center, preferably in healthcare in a leadership role.
  • Experience with healthcare scheduling workflows
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Exceptional organization and documentation skills
  • Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other training module databases).
  • Ability to be creative and engage employees through training modules.
  • Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure, problem solve, recall information and collaborate and accept directions.
  • Manage multiple assignments effectively, organize and prioritize workload.
  • Pay close attention to detail and work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred:

  • College Degree Preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of Training and Development
  • Medical terminology skills

Essential Functions:

  • Enforces moral and professional standards in harmony with the department and enterprise mission, vision, and values.
  • Responsible for the instructional design and development of all course materials and learning resources in a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, animation and multimedia to support the unique teaching and learning for the Access Center and serve as a resource to train similar functions that do not report directly to the Access Center.
  • Develops instructional strategies and assessment techniques for the appropriate integration of instructional technologies and best practices in collaboration with the RWJBH Medical Practices.
  • Ensures the effective delivery of departmental training that allows Access Center personnel to complete functional tasks including, workflows of registration, scheduling, insurance eligibility and verification, referral and authorization processes.
  • Ensures the effective delivery of departmental training on ethics, exceptional customer service and RWJBH Medical Practices regulatory guidelines.
  • Assists managers and supervisors with a fundamental understanding of requirements and processes.
  • Works with other resources in maintaining all functions and related material current.
  • Coaches and mentors trainees and super-users.
  • Ensures Standard Operating Procedures are current and have appropriate approvals prior to delivery.
  • Ensures job aids and instructional training material remain current.
  • Participates in planning and in the efficient, effective management of resources for training and ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Collaborates with RWJBH medical practice teams to ensure instructional training, content and design are all aligned and appropriately delivered.
  • Manages and ensures all employees are trained and maintain current on new processes and technology.
  • Promotes a continuous learning culture and works with management team to facilitate continuous learning.
  • Cross trains with other Access Center trainers, strengthening the knowledge base.
  • In concert with the manager and other trainers, maintains a centralized depository for all training material while leveraging technology to create a sustainable training program
