FTE: 0.8, Shift: Days, Schedule: M-F, 11-6 or 1-6

Position Summary

New Adventures Early Learning Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting in the general supervision, management of a class of children. The Teacher Assistant is responsible to assist in research, planning, change room environment and implement weekly emergent curriculum based off children's interest in each domain: Art, Reading, Writing, Cooking. Science, Math, Music/Movement. Teacher Assistant is responsible for maintaining all DCYF licensing and Early Achiever standards within the classroom. Will participate in child screenings, assessments, conferences 3x per year and portfolio for each child. This is an intermediate level Child Care position which works under the direction of the classroom Teacher. This position requires a clear understanding of the growth, development, and needs of children. Internal contacts are primarily within the work group. External contacts include parents and families of children.

Requirements


  • Early Childhood Education Initial Certificate or equivalent
  • Must have these certifications within 90-days of hire: First Aid, CPR, and Food Handling certification
  • Meets WA State requirements to work in a licensed child care facility
  • Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications
  • Internal candidates not meeting minimum qualifications will have 1 year to meet standard
  • Direct experience working with children

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $19.13 - $27.53 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
