Lead Donor Service Representative Department: Retail Supervisor: Store Manager BASIC FUNCTION To provide excellent service to donors at various sites. To receive and sort goods from donors and to assist in all areas of the transportation department or store as needed. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Receives goods from the general public: Greets and assists donors by providing information; unloads donations; offers and provides receipts; determines what is acceptable according to criteria; rejects unusable items tactfully as per training; provides tax information as per guidelines. Maintains excellent public relations at all times. Sorts donations into proper containers and removes trash. Applies labels to containers to ensure accurate distribution. Completes all necessary paperwork such as daily donor logs, donor receipts, etc. Keeps donation sites clear and clean at all times. Supervises site to ensure flow of materials. Supervises employees assigned to donation site and reports problems or concerns to Retail District Director. Assists in appraising employees assigned to the site. Maintains an awareness of safety precautions and techniques when operating vehicles, using equipment, and material handling. Performs duties in a safe manner and ensures employees adhere to all safety guidelines. Opens and closes facility as needed. Ensures the security of building and all equipment. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Must be at least 18 years old (responsible for equipment operation) No formal education necessary. Ability to read, write and do simple math The individual should possess the strength necessary to handle materials. A neat appearance and good manners are essential. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to push and pull various carts requiring a force of 50 pounds a distance of 100 feet for 25% of the shift Ability to push and pull manual pallet jacks with gaylords or other material requiring a force of 60 pounds a distance of 100 feet for 25% of the shift Ability to lift 50 pounds from ground level to waist level at least 80 times during the course of an entire shift Ability to repeatedly bend forward or to the side 60 degrees to remove or place items into various carts and gaylords for 50% of the shift Ability to step up 24 inches onto forklifts and/or onto the lift forks slots of trash dumpsters up to 25% of shift Ability to raise hands above the head to open trash dumpsters for 10% of the shift Visual and hearing acuity (with correction) that meets standard vision and hearing test criteria Note: This applies to powered industrial equipment operators only.
