Job Announcement

Seeking a flexible, deadline driven, results focused, passionate human resources professional to facilitate the day-to-day HR operations for the department. Performs a variety of complex, professional-level tasks in multiple functional areas of HR, including payroll, FMLA, ADA, worker's compensation, and developing HR reports. Assists in recruitment to include scheduling of interviews and ensuring necessary forms are completed and collected. Responsible for assisting in developing process improvements. Assist with coordinating employee awards and recognition events. Works on special projects and other duties as assigned.


Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in human resource management, public administration, or a related field.

BRIDGE CLASS EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Four years of increasingly complex technical administrative experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Administrative Assistant IV, or higher, level. This class can serve as a bridge class enabling individuals who do not meet the educational or professional experience standards listed above to qualify for this class by possessing four years of increasingly complex technical administrative experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Administrative Assistant IV, or higher, level.
The purpose of this bridge class is to promote upward mobility within the Fairfax County workforce. However persons qualifying for this class on the basis of their technical experience may not substitute this technical experience for education, or for professional experience, in order to qualify for other employment opportunities.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Highly motivated professional with the ability to work effectively with minimum supervision. Ability to establish and maintain healthy effective relationships with staff. Knowledge of HRIS/HCM/SAP/FOCUS and applicant tracking systems such as NEOGOV. Extensive experience in FMLA, ADA and knowledge of human resource, best practices in IT industry. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification of Senior Professional in Human Resources, a plus. Demonstrated high degree of integrity in handling sensitive matters and professionalism. A strong individual contributor with the ability to support DIT's HR team and work as a part of the team. Comfort in a complex business and swift changing work environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is generally sedentary, performed in a normal office environment. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Panel interview and may include exercise.
