Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer

Location: Conyers, GA

What we are looking for:

Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting the Quality Director/Manager in strategic and day-to-day Quality related activities and the improvement of Quality processes and systems. The Senior Quality Engineer utilizes quality and continuous improvement tools and methodology to enhance the quality assurance program, solve problems and avoid repeat issues. The Senior Quality Engineer will also provide guidance to the Quality Engineering staff and will be required to fill in for Quality Management in their absence. The Senior Quality Engineer is a self-starter and change agent that will support the Conyers site in moving from Reactive (control/inspection) to Preventive Quality Assurance.

What you will be responsible for in this role:

  • Leads, creates, and maintains the following items:
    • Standard procedures and process flows
    • Process and final inspection plans
    • Receiving inspection plans
    • Inspection instructions and process flow
  • Leads, creates, assigns, and follows up with the following items:
    • 8Ds for Corrective Actions and Customer Corrective Action Requests as required
  • Assist the Quality Manager and Quality Engineers in day-to-day QA/QC duties
  • Provide direction and coaching to the quality team
  • Data collection, data processing, data analysis
  • Conduct capability studies, internal and external audits
  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes
  • Liaison between production, customer service, Supplier QE and engineering for issues affecting production
  • Manages QC Fixture test program
  • Develops Quality Inspection Plans for New Product
  • Up to 15% travel for domestic and international travel

What are the basic qualifications?

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years manufacturing/quality or supplier quality
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certified.

What are the preferred qualifications?

  • Bachelor's degree in the Engineering field
  • Certification from Accredited body (CQE, CQM, Six Sigma Black Belt)
  • Statistical mathematics
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T basics); process capability (Cpk..),
  • HVAC, Automation, Automotive, Aerospace or Discrete manufacturing experience a plus.

To be a great fit for the role:

  • Proficient in Excel, Minitab, Excel, Word, Visio
  • Proficient in Problem Solving Skill (6 Sigma, PDCA, Shainin.)
  • Background in quality systems/supplier quality management systems and data collection
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
