Carrilion Clinic is seeking to recruit a full-time Advanced Practice Provider for our Wound Care Team. Prior experience in wound care is preferred but is not required. Role involves caring for patients in the hospital setting, outpatient setting and through our telemedicine program. Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, no weekends, no holidays. The Advanced Practice Provider has advanced knowledge and skills that qualify her/him to function as a primary health care provider. She/he serves as a member of a collaborative health care team. This collaborative role includes responsibility for determining the patient's health and medical status by taking a health history; performing physical exams; initiating screening and diagnostic procedures; evaluate and manage all acute and chronic wounds, surgical wounds and dermatologic wounds, change dressings, perform medically necessary debridement, and determine plan of care. Consults with physician, as appropriate, keeping the physician informed of needs and problems related to patient care.
What We Require:
Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
Experience: Clinical experience appropriate to specific practice/ department preferred
Licensure/Certification: Current Physician Assistants license (PA) required. DEA licensure required. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced life support is preferred and is required for those who may use a defibrillator in their practice.
Other: Meets credentialing requirements. Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinic's malpractice insurance carrier. Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Maintains open and supportive communications between all department members and other employees, patients and their family members. Commitment to continued professional development.
