Position Title: NASTAR Course Attendant

Business Unit: Alpine Operations - NASTAR

Position Reports to: Senior Manager Adventure Programs

Positions Reporting to this Role: None

Location: Crystal Mountain, Washington

Compensation: $20-$26/hour D.O.E.

JOB SUMMARY

As an NASTAR Course Attendant at Crystal Mountain, you will maintain the free public racecourse and provide information to members of public. You will commit to providing excellent experiences and memories of a lifetime. While maintaining a presence at the course you will engage with guests in the vicinity and perform regular checks of the course to ensure safe operating conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
* Maintain a visual presence at the course.
* Physically inspect the course prior to opening for any hazards in the terrain or equipment associated with the course.
* Set and maintain racing gates and fencing for the course
* Maintain snow removal from around the starting area and other structures inaccessible to the grooming department.
* Respond to customer concerns/questions
* Contribute to a positive working environment
* Maintain a safe, healthy, and secure working environment
* Promote and ensure safe practices using all required PPE and adhering to proper safety protocols in all activities
* Promote and market activity options to our guests
* Attend daily pre-shift meetings and necessary trainings
* Gather guest feedback and recommend improvements to management
* Promote and maintain the highest level of customer service by anticipating the needs of our guests even before they realize what they need
* Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refer the matter to management. Notify supervisor of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items or alleged thefts.
* Develop and maintain an organizational culture, values and reputation with staff and guests.
* Ensure a positive, harmonious, compliant, and cooperative work environment.
* Act as a representative of Crystal Mountain with guests & community members.
* Abide by all Crystal Mountain employment guidelines.
* Basic First Aid & CPR preferred.
* High energy, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
* This position is required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays while in operation.
* Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position at least 50 pounds occasionally.
* Operation of power tools - primarily power drill w/ ice auger
* Must be comfortable in a public speaking role engaging with guests and providing direction for the race course.
* Auditory and visual acuity to operate radios, mobile devices, and basic outdoor equipment constantly.
* Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing, and pulling constantly.
* Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices, and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
* Talking and hearing occur continuously in communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees, must be able to listen and respond with proper customer service.
