The Receiving Specialist Senior assists the Supervisor with daily operations in the service and distribution section by ensuring service goals are met in a timely manner. The Receiving Specialist Senior complies with hospital and departmental policy and procedure and accreditation and OSHA standards; general infection control; and inventory control requirements.

The Receiving Specialist Senior identifies service and performance issues and takes action to ensure problems are corrected.

Essential Job Statements

  • Utilize MMIS system to receive packages

  • Appropriately receives packages and safely and securely prepares for transport.

  • General maintenance, including cleaning, organizing, and securing inventory.

  • Load and wrap items utilizing pallet jackets.

  • Delivers items to end users (internal customers).

  • Verifies accuracy of deliveries and notates any damage or discrepancy in packages/supplies and reports to appropriate individual.

  • May correspond with vendors including but not limited to payment resolution; directing phone calls from vendors and internal customers to the correct area for resolution regarding open receipts; and ensuring and facilitating the flow of accurate information.

  • Loading and unloading deliveries as well as preparing returns.

  • Processes all special attention package into the automated system by verifying items and packing slips.

  • Assist in leading, directing and guiding the staff in the direction consistent with the mission of this hospital as needed.

  • Ensure responsibility and visible commitment of diversity equity and inclusion programs/initiatives through collaboration and implementation of initiatives across the health.

Minimum Qualifications

Years and Type of Required Experience

Two (2) years of previous medical packing, shipping, receiving and/or warehousing work experience.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Previous experience using a personal computer and different software applications required.

Ability to read, write and give effective communication to customers.

Previous lead warehouse worker preferred.
