The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of State and Community Energy Programs (SCEP) works with state, local, and Tribal governments, nonprofit organizations, schools, and community partners to provide technical assistance and invest in place-based clean energy projects.

The Inflation Reduction Act provides nearly $400 billion to support clean energy and address climate change and includes $8.8 billion for Home Energy Rebates. SCEP includes the Home Efficiency Rebates and Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates programs, which provide Americans with incentives on high efficiency home appliances and equipment, and upgrades that can lower the home's energy use. The Grants Monitor will support the effective and timely execution of applications and monitoring of rebate grants.

Responsibilities:

  • Review grant applications and contact applicants to help correct and update information in the application.
  • Assist federal staff with monitoring the award and administration of grants.
  • Regular use of government systems.
  • Create requisitions for obligation of funds, de-obligation of funds, no-cost time extensions, closeout of grants, and requisitions for acquisition.
  • Communicate with the budget team to plan for timely arrival of program funds, balance of funds, and early reallotment funds.
  • Maintain tracking spreadsheets for balance of funds, funding codes, Grantee contacts, and other information.
  • Create meeting agendas, document and distribute meeting notes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
  • 3 years' experience.
  • Professional attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Self-starter, an ability to work both independently and as part of a highly dynamic collaborative team.
  • Ability to balance a high workload with multiple projects and tasks to meet congressionally mandated deadlines.
  • Must be U.S. citizen.
  • Successful drug screening.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working within DOE programs.
  • Experience in grant management.
  • Knowledge/experience using DOE systems, including STRIPES and PAGE.

Location/Work Arrangement:

  • This position is Hybrid in Washington, D.C.

Starting compensation for this role typically salary ranges between $60,000.00 and $80,000.00 annually is commensurate with experience relative to the position and may vary based on candidate geographical location.
