Job Description: Seeking Nurse Manager!Baptist Health Floyd, Cardiovascular Care Unit Full-Time (40 Hours Weekly), Days Benefit Eligible Job Duties:The Nurse Manager is responsible for organizing and supervising the staff in their department, programs, budgets, schedules, payroll and equipment. They are to provide leadership through communication and relationship-building, a strong knowledge of the health care environment and business skills. The Nurse Manager functions as an extension of the Director of their department by implementing policies, procedures, and standards of the hospital within the unit managed. About the Unit: The Cardiovascular Care Unit (CVCU) of Baptist Health Floyd specializes in the care of open-heart surgery patients.CVCU is a modern unit providing expert cardiac care with an innovative model of care called the universal bed concept. The team leverages their clinical expertise to care for these cardiac patients on all levels from pre-operative teaching to open-heart recovery, to cardiac ICU care, and to discharge teaching.While cardiac surgery patients are the primary focus, the CVCU team also cares for general ICU patients, complex cardiology patients, patients requiring cardiac devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps and Impellas, and patients requiring cooling after cardiac arrest. Qualifications:Graduate of accredited BSN or MSN program. Master's degree preferred; If no current Master's degree and not pursuing, must obtain national certification in leadership within 2 years. Three (3) years nursing experience required. One (1) year charge nurse or supervisory experience required. BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA, ARC, or AHSI required. ACLS required within 12 months of hire. NIH Stroke Scale Certification required, within 10 weeks from hire. National specialty certification and/or National certification in Nursing Leadership preferred. Baptist Health Floyd is a Pathway to Excellence designated organization. |
