Genesis10 is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst III for our client in the Utilities industry. This Contract position is located in Corinth, TX 76210.

W2 Status:

Description:

The Business Intelligence Analyst 3 works with Application Teams, IT infrastructure teams, developers, vendors, and business users to ensure rapid thorough analysis of complex business needs, applying analytics techniques and developing solutions to drive strong outcomes. Activities include analyzing and creating reports using documented procedures, assuring quality and data accuracy, and delivering the reports and dashboards on time to internal customers. You will design and create technical solutions to solve business problems and to increase business efficiency. Your designs will be current, insightful, user-friendly and help drive insights from the data. A successful candidate must have strong experience in data analysis, data engineering as well as reporting and analytics tools. Previous technical experience and technical aptitude are required.

Responsibilities:


  • Creates, updates and maintains reporting solutions utilizing Power BI for multiple business partners
  • Engages business partners to understand requirements, map to logical and physical data models and develop thoughtful insights into the data
  • Uses a variety of OLAP tools and methods to access data from a variety of sources such as Oracle, MS SQL server and IBM DB2
  • Creates and runs complex SQL queries to analyze data and develop solutions
  • Provides great service and technical support of issues, including data validation and maintaining reporting accuracy
  • Provides ad hoc query and reporting to business requests, as needed
  • Interfaces with Business Units, Client Services Desk, vendor and other IT areas to develop reporting solutions
  • Provides recommendations on Data Warehousing and cloud architecture
  • Assists manager in developing/revising and documenting policies and procedures for supporting data governance and reporting best practices
  • Complies with established corporate safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor
  • Complies with established corporate Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support




Secondary Position Responsibilities



  • Attends all required company training and employee development
  • Attends monthly department meeting or reviews safety material independently
  • Cross-platform problem solving, solution investigation and delivery
  • Mentors Junior Analysts
  • Participates/represents IT Enterprise Applications during Enterprise and departmental projects
  • Performs other duties and activities as directed


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Management Information Systems or Business Computer Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 7 + years as a Business Intelligence Analyst, PowerBI Developer, Data Analyst or Data Engineer
  • Strong Experience in Power BI, developing Reports and Dashboards
  • 4+ years of data warehouse experience
  • Strong SQL skills and knowledge of Data Modeling
  • Experience developing end-to-end solutions
  • Experience in analytical thinking and problem solving
  • Experience in requirements elicitation and preparation of functional design documents


Desired Skills:

  • PowerBI Certification, a plus
  • Cloud Certifications, a plus
