                    The Shipping Clerk will maintain data within a Warehouse Management System including inventory, fulfillment, transportation, and order management. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for planning orders, arranging transportation, maintaining transportation contacts, and work instructions for customer-routed freight.

                    ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:



                    • Prioritize and communicate intercompany transfer needs
                    • Identify and communicate customer order shortages
                    • Sales order fulfillment
                    • Use of transportation module to plan orders
                    • Print sales order pick lists
                    • Schedule and confirm transportation arrangements
                    • Communicate with carriers such as road, rail, air, and sea companies
                    • Ensure customer ASN's are performed
                    • Adhere to the company's safety standards
                    • Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the company's ISO standards



                    Education:



                    • High School Diploma or GED


                    Experience and/or Training:



                    • Minimum of 2 years shipping experience
                    • Experience using a computerized Warehouse Management System
                    • Experience with scanned pick and shipment preparation
                    • Knowledge of LTL shipment routing and classification of freight
                    • Must have good command of the English language and the ability to read and understand written instructions
                    • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations in order to accurately complete job tasks
                    • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying customer requirements
                    • Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements
                    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished written or orally in English
                    • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
                    • Ability to communicate effectively via phone or email
                    • Computer proficiency utilizing ERP systems and software including Microsoft Outlook and Excel


                      PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

                      Employee must be able to deal with multiple assignments and work well under pressure. Steel-toed shoes are required for interaction in the warehouse. Must be able to work in a manufacturing warehouse environment exposed to hot/cold temperatures and dust. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
