This is an off shift position located in our Alliance, NE facility
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Set-up machines by doing gear changes, deck changes (wire and yarn), tube changes, layer stock changes and cutting out finished product on a production reel.
2. Operator will monitor multiple machines as they are running to ensure a quality product.
3. Operator will prioritize job duties based on information obtained from Work Leader/Value Stream Team Leader and/or braid set-up sheet.
4. Operator will communicate with Material Handler when needing supplies.
5. Operator will communicate with Maintenance when needed.
6. Operator will monitor the flow of production and check the schedule (via cards or Made to Order) to know what the current run is and what the future run(s) will be.
7. Operator will follow the process specification when setting up and running hose.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
2. Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
3. Maintain production schedules.
4. Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
5. Other duties may be assigned at a later time.
Education required/ preferred: High School diploma or GED
Experience: Production work preferred but not required

1. Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
2. Basic knowledge and use of hand tools
3. Sound decision making skills
4. Good math, reading, writing skills
5. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
6. Mental and visual acuity for production of quality product
7. Strong trouble shooting skills
Skills/Competencies:
1. Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office package
2. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
