Controllers - Regulatory Controllers, Vice President - Jersey City

We are seeking a motivated person to join the Regulatory Reporting Team. This person will provide support and analysis of all external and internal regulatory reporting requirements.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation of daily net capital estimates
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly management review package and FOCUS report. Specific responsibilities include:
• review classifications for proper regulatory treatment
• prepare and analyze the GSCO monthly capital estimate vs. actual comparison
• prepare and review operational charges
• analyze and explain variances
• assist in projects that help streamline current workflows
• assist in automation initiatives
• Prepare various reports to be sent to senior management summarizing specific Net Capital information.
• Desire to drive initiatives/projects to improve processes, procedures and workflow
• Desire to solve day to day analytical challenges leveraging various data analysis tools
• Desire to become proficient in rule requirements impactful to the entity

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 7 + years of related experience in public accounting or financial services firm required; knowledge of SEC Rules preferred
• Committed to a career in financial services
• Ability to work in a team under pressure
• Ability to interact and build relationships with people from different departments and levels of seniority
• Ability to use initiative and work accurately with minimum supervision
• Solid Knowledge of Microsoft Office desktop applications
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
• Experience or interest in automation using code
