JOB SUMMARY |
Plan and lay out fire sprinkler systems using architectural drawings and prepare calculations for construction plans.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |
- One to Two years' experience in drafting programs, i.e. auto CAD.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES |
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Learn and understand Fire Sprinkler Codes (NFPA 13)
- Learn and understand basic building layouts/basic fire protection layout, up to and including, sprinkler heads/piping/ceiling grid and walls.
- Assist with and learn submittal packages/running copies of prints/writing fire protection letters/meeting with fire inspectors.
- Assist with field surveys and understand basic building and fire codes.
- Investigate and procure all data required to develop a design.
- Prepare material lists to accompany diagrams.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
