Department:NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT Organizational Unit:ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT (50000049) Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time CLOSE DATE: 12/02/2024 $1,942.03 to $2,039.13 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs skilled professional-level work in compliance inspections and enforcement of County natural resource ordinances, codes, laws, and regulations. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Natural Resources, Zoology, Botany, or closely related field PLUS one (1) year of experience in forestry, natural resources field work, or biological assessments. Experience performing code enforcement inspections for a public agency and Florida Associate of Code Enforcement (FACE) certification is preferred. Knowledge of life history, habitat requirements, and needs of wildlife species indigenous to Brevard County is preferred. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment, a Florida Associate of Code Enforcement (FACE) Level I certification and maintain said certification in an active status during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
