Job Description: Summary: The person in this position will be part of an innovative and collaborative geotechnical engineering team of over 90 geotechnical engineers and geologists. Barr's geotechnical engineering team serves the fuels, mining, power, manufacturing, and public sectors. We provide a wide array of services related to foundations, dams, embankments, landslides, soil-structure interaction, earth-retaining structures, excavations, and underground structures. We also offer geotechnical services for ground improvement, geotechnical modeling, instrumentation and monitoring, in-situ testing, geophysics, soil dynamics and earthquake engineering, geosynthetics, geohazard assessments, and groundwater and seepage. The person in this position will work on a variety of geotechnical projects that involve traditional geotechnical and civil analysis and design related to shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, seepage, bearing capacity, settlement, and earth retention with an emphasis on mine tailings storage facilities-largely earthen dams-and water retention dams. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position can be based out of Barr's Dever, Colorado, or Salt Lake City, Utah, office. Colorado Applicants Only: Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $70,000-86,000. Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
